Godfrey Clarke : ウィキペディア英語版 | Godfrey Clarke Godfrey Clarke (born c. 1684 d, 1734), was an English politician who represented Derbyshire in the 18th century. Clarke was the son of Gilbert Clarke of Chilcote and his wife Barbara Clerke daughter of George Clerke of Northamptonshire. The family was long associated with Somersall Hall〔(''Parishes: Calke - Chesterfield'', Magna Britannia: volume 5: Derbyshire (1817), pp. 70-89. Clarke married Catherine Stanhope daughter of Philip Stanhope, 2nd Earl of Chesterfield in 1706. Clarke's son or grandson Godfrey Bagnall Clarke (b c 1742) was the last member of the family of Chilcote.
